About Us
Ballymorris Pottery was established in 1994 in rural Co. Clare, in a 17th Century Farm. Since opening, the pottery has expanded and a new workshop has been created with a retail outlet, located in a renovated hay barn.
The pottery is run by Hannah Arnup, who studied BA Hons, Fine Art Sculpture at Kingston Upon Thames, and Post Graduate Ceramics at Goldsmiths College in London.
The range of work available at Ballymorris Pottery reflects the breadth of my interest and training. I studied both sculpture and ceramics in England, but much of my experience came from my parents, Sally and Mick Arnup.
I worked with them, gaining experience with an unusual blend of craft, art, and business. Their encouragement and influence giving me the knowledge and confidence to establish Ballymorris Pottery when I moved to Ireland in 1990.
Arnup Studios
Hannah’s parents were Mick and Sally Arnup, respected sculptor, painter and potter. They lived and worked at Holtby, in Yorkshire until 2015. Hannah inherited their studios and continued their creative legacy by redesigning the spaces, turning Mick and Sally's studio and gallery into separate studios for artists and makers. Today, the studios are shared by five other artists and craftswomen, each working independently while benefiting from the camaraderie and support of the wider Arnup Studios community. It is a truly special place.

The Arnup family
My artistic roots stem from my parents, Sally and Mick Arnup, and I share this creative background with my siblings, Ben Arnup (a ceramicist) and Tobias Arnup (a painter).
